ORLANDO, FL – A driver was hospitalized after he crashed his car into a retention pond Monday.
According to FOX 35 Orlando, the 41-year-old man did not negotiate a left turn on SR 408. As a result, he went through the intersection, and crossed both directions of Alafaya Trail, hit a curb, and crashed into the water.
It is unclear what caused him to travel off course and go into the water, although officials speculate the man may have experienced a medical episode.
He was taken to Florida Hospital East in critical condition.
