Ocala man fatally struck by vehicle in Silver Springs Shores

MARION CO., FL – A man was killed early this morning when he was hit by a vehicle in the Silver Springs Shores area.

According to WKMG, the 42-year-old Ocala man was walking in the outside lane of Maricamp Road near Southeast Bahia Avenue Court when he was hit by a sedan heading east at about 12:37 a.m.

The unidentified pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The sedan’s driver, a 38-year-old man from Belleview, was unhurt.

It is unclear why the victim was walking in the roadway at the time of the crash. Our team will update this news blog as any additional details come to light.
