MARION CO., FL – A fiery crash on I-75 in Marion County on Wednesday claimed the lives of three people and left two others seriously injured.
According to a report by WKMG, the crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 337.
Investigators say a sedan collided with a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes of the freeway, causing both vehicles to crash through the median guard and into the oncoming lanes. An SUV and another truck heading north then became involved in the crash.
The drivers of the tractor trailer, SUV, and truck, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The sedan’s driver and a passenger in the truck were each hospitalized in serious condition.
