Man dies after collision ejects him into Lake Jessup

SEMINOLE CO., FL – A man was killed and four others were injured after a collision involving three vehicles on Sunday.

According to WXJT, the crash occurred at about 1:18 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Lake Jessup Bridge.

Troopers say a 2019 Mercedes SUV was speeding when they struck the rear of a 2010 Toyota Scion, causing the scion hit a wall and rotate before crashing into the opposite wall.

One passenger in the Toyota was ejected and thrown into the lake. He was later recovered and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and another passenger in the Toyota were seriously injured. The fourth occupant and the driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries.

Charges are currently pending against the driver of the Mercedes.
