Hit-and-run driver kills cyclist in bike lane

OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL – A cyclist was killed in Osceola County on Monday morning after a hit-and-run driver swerved into the bike lane, WESH reports. 

The accident occurred around 6 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 192 and Simmons Road.

For reasons that are not clear at this time, a vehicle suddenly veered into the bike lane and struck the victim. They died at the scene and the driver fled the scene.

Police are searching for the driver, who they believe was driving a Ford-150.
