CLERMONT, FL – A three-vehicle crash at the State Road 33 and Bakers Lane junction claimed the life of three people after 5:30 a.m. Friday.
Click Orlando said the wreck was first prompted when a driver of a Chevrolet Silverado, driving south on SR 33, went into the northbound lanes and hit the front of a semi-truck. The semi-truck rolled over, and an asphalt truck traveling from behind the semi-truck went off the road and collided with numerous trees before also overturning.
The semi-truck and asphalt truck drivers were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries, while the three pickup truck occupants were killed at the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol said the pickup truck passengers were the driver, a 21-year-old woman, and a 50-year-old woman, and a 59-year-old man from Mascotte.
Troopers are investigating additional details.
