Teen driver killed, 4 others injured in single-vehicle crash in Lake County

LAKE CO., FL – A 16-year-old driver was killed and four other minors were rushed to the hospital after a single-vehicle collision in Sorrento last night.

According to WJXT, the teen lost control of their vehicle at about 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of CR-437 and Plymouth Hollow Circle and slammed into a light pole at about 10:20 p.m.

The vehicle continued through some nearby hedges before coming to rest against a tree.

The driver was transported to a hospital in Apopka, where he succumbed to his injuries later on. The four passengers, all juveniles, were transported to another hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
