ORLANDO, FL – A wrong-way collision on the on-ramp of westbound SR-528 prompted one vehicle to catch fire and claimed the lives of the two drivers around 2 a.m. Friday.
WESH 2 said when one driver was traveling the wrong way at the SR-417 and SR-528 junction, and the motorist collided head-on with a 29-year-old man.
The car driven by the 29-year-old man caught on fire, resulting in his death as well as the driver who caused the wrong-way collision.
The off-ramp closed for several hours and reopened around 9 a.m.
It is unclear if impairment played a role in this collision.
